Learning how to clean your wax brush is important to continue using it time after time. Good, proper cleaning of your brush can give you a wonderful return on your investment. These brushes can be used for many years — even a good decade, if cared for!
Our customers often opt for our wax over our Matte Finish Clear Coat when they are looking for a slightly higher sheen for their project. While both products cover any piece remarkably well, the buffing and the “shining” that one can do with wax, allows it to get a slightly higher gloss.
Just as picky on all our wax brushes as we are in our paint, we at MudPaint Clay Furniture Paint scoured the globe for the finest tools we could find. Our wax brush’s main feature that has customers raving is that it has sturdier, stouter and stiffer bristles than our natural bristle paint brushes used to apply MudPaint. These slightly stiffer bristles make it just perfect for applying our world famous wax
By maintaining a clean wax paint brush, you will be able to use the same brush to apply clear or dark wax. Cleaning a wax brush is simple by following these tips:
1. After each use, remove excess wax with a rag or paper towel.
2. Once the excess wax is removed, soak the brush in Mineral Spirits until the wax has dissolved.
3. Next, wash the brush with a mild dish detergent in warm water.
4. Allow to dry.
Thats it! By regularly making sure you have a clean wax brush, the brush will last longer and the wax will go on smoother….and better!
