I used the matte clear coat over my kitchen cabinets that I had just painted with MudPaint China White. I thoroughly enjoyed using this finish, and felt it was necessary due to the amount of use kitchen cabinets receive. As promised, it went on smoothly and dried matte, with no shine or gloss, which is exactly what I wanted. Cleanup was quick with soap and water lathered on my brushes.
The color China White was perfect for my kitchen cabinets, which I had painted last year and was unhappy because they were too stark white. China White has just a whisper of warmth. The paint goes on smooth and dries very fast. I did two coats of paint and one coat of the matte clear coat, which I felt was necessary for the amount of use kitchen cabinets receive.
I would like to mention that dry times should be noted on the label on the cans. To be safe, I waited 3 hours between paint coats and let my clear coat dry overnight before rehanging my cabinet doors.
I received my MudPaint today and am just thrilled! The coverage is amazing and I used several types of brushes with it and the outcome was the same. The paint is so versatile. I’m so incredibly impressed and excited!

Overall I really enjoy mudpaint but it does dry a bit too fast making it hard to get smooth, even layers on it.
Very fine paint, which spreads easily. and super cool colors too! I love it!
Love this brand of paint! I will be ordering more. Love the colors and the paint quaility is amazing.
LOVING this paint!!!! I have tried every chalk paint, mineral paint out there. This will be my go to! Thanks!
Really like working with this paint.
Super neutral that’s slightly different from the normal neutral.
Very similar to Smoke but with a hint of warmth which makes it completely different (in a good way)
I haven’t used the paint yet but love the consistency and color. I usually use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint but read about Mud Paint on Instagram from Jo (click2restore) that I follow. I’m not super excited about sanding but wanted a more sleek look and decided to try it. I’ll be ordering more!
