I was looking for a dark purple for a while and found the color I wanted on Pinterest which happened to have a link to MudPaint. I was so glad I did! My very used nightstand was in desperate need of refinishing and I am thrilled with the end product. I used the paint and wax for the piece pictured, and plan on doing the same to my extra large matching dresser.

Came out really great! Took 3 coats for this "look". Still comes across ever so slightly whitewashed with some brush strokes showing versus being completely solid. I was thinking "solid" but liked this better. One more coat and it would look like a cabinet covered in velvet. I chose (so far) not to use a finishing wax. Noone will be "pawing" this so it'll look just like this for years. Please note that I did not paint any of the interior. This piece is from Brazil and is extremely heavy. It had a semi-gloss finish to start with and took me about five minutes to go over it with a Craftsman mouse sander.
